Lake Chala is known as Dschalla – a crater in the caldera on the borders of Kenya and Tanzania. It is located on the Eastern edge of Mount Kilimanjaro, 55 kms from the town of Moshi. The lake is surrounded by a 100-meter high crater rim and, depending on the time of year, ranges in color from a spectacular deep blue to turquoise and green. The lake is fed by groundwater flows that come from Mount Kilimanjaro and are drained underground.
Your day starts by being picked up from your hotel and enjoying a scenic drive to Lake Chala. Upon arrival and registering, you will start walking to Lake Chala with your guide. In addition to seeing beautiful trees and greenery along the way, you will also see monkeys, birds, butterflies, lizards, baboons and fish.
You can enjoy a variety of activities or just relax and enjoy the beauty and sunshine. After the end of a beautiful day we walk back to the gate and return to Moshi, where we will drop you off at your hotel.
